Police arrest one for multiple fraud charges

Nepal police arrested a fraudster for his alleged involvement in duping a man aspiring to become a lawmaker for Rs 5 million, among other charges. Following a complaint registered by Hari Sharan Shrestha of Barhabise-8 of Sindhupalchowk district, police arrested Devendra Kumar Bartaula, 44, of Kathmandu on Tuesday. According to the police, Bartaula had allegedly duped Rs 2 million from Shrestha by arranging 'high-level' meetings in Nepal and making calls to so called influential politicians of India. Of the total deal of Rs 5 million, Bartaula and his wife Sofila Bartaula had taken Rs 2 million at different interval of time.
