Football team arrives in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU, Feb 17: The victorious Nepali under-23 football team which won the gold medal for the country in the 12th South Asian Games held in Guwahati, India, returned home Wednesday afternoon. The team landed at the domestic terminal of the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) at around 3:45 pm this afternoon.Earlier today, they arrived at Jhapa on a bus from Darjeeling-based, Bagdogra airport, India, following their flight from Guwahati. All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) will organize a victory rally in the honor of the team that won the South Asian football championship after a long gap of 23 years. The rally is beginning at TIA and scheduled to reach Dashrath Stadium passing through Tilganga, Gaushala Chowk, Ratopul, Gyaneshwar, Lhotse Chowk, Kamalpokhari, Putalisadak, Padmodaya turning, Exhibition Road, Rastriya Sabhagriha, Bhadrakali, Sundhara, New Road Gate, Bir Hospital, Bhotahiti, Jamal, Keshar Mahal, Narayanhiti Museum South Gate, Old Buspark, Bhadrakali, Sahidgate, Tripureshwar and conclude at the Dashrath Stadium where ANFA will organize a special program to honor the team.
